The Island of Hawai'i
I usually limit the posts in this blog to technical matters, so let me try to create a technical spin on these vacation photos.
First, let me say that the Island of Hawai'i (commonly known as the Big Island) is a place that has something for everyone, from an internationally renowned observatory to the greatest coffee in the world, certainly the most expensive at $50 a pound. I think this is what distinguishes the Big Island from the other Islands, its amazing geographic diversity and its epic tropical landscapes all in a relatively small land mass.
I will let the photos and videos speak for themselves, but I would have to say my favorite part of the vacation was the visit to the "Hawai'i Tropical Botanical Garden". To see so many plants that I think of as decorative novelties growing in the wild was such a treat. They are more vibrant and beautiful in their natural setting, and if I listened closely, I could almost hear each of them tell me how happy they were to be growing up at home. Fortunately, we arrived just after it had rained, so many of the pictures glisten with water droplets, making the flowers appear bejeweled in diamonds. If you only have time to look at one of the albums below, this is the one I would recommend.

One more thing. For those of you who have not met Sheri yet, you will see her in many of the selfies included in various albums. We had a great time together! I am looking forward to our next vacation!!
